TOOTHPASTE FOR THE EYES!
Help your patients help themselves Just as a orthodontist insists on twice daily dental hygiene on behalf of their patient’s own welfare, the eye care specialist should insist on eye hygiene for their patients and customers.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD IGIENE C2 BE USED?
- at least twice per day
- especially at night
- do highlight massaging
AT LEAST TWICE PER DAY
The unique periocular universe is so critical to the vision and vision comfort of your patients and contact lens wearers, that we recommend you prescribe your patients to apply eye hygiene ‘as often as possible’ especially in an acute stage. (Igiene ophthalmic grade uniquely allows intense frequency and at low cost per day). However, we would like to suggest that you insist and recommend at least TWICE DAILY, and especially at night. Why especially before going to bed? Not only does the skin fulfill most of its repair functions when we are resting, but pathogens and microorganisms prefer to move in the dark. E.g. Demodex is difficult to detect under microscope light, since it prefers to shun the light and prefers to burrows at night into the inner layers of the peri ocular skin at a rate of 3mm/hour, devouring and dysfunctioning glands as it proceeds.
Massaging the eyelid has the added benefit that the tear ducts are helped to express old sebum. It also helps to prevent build up and removes debris and toxic waste of bacteria.
A SOAP BUBBLE APPROACH
- help patients help them selves
- embrace the Tear Bubble®
Lid hygiene alone has been known to replace expensive eye drops and often more effective in the long term.
Blepharitis is mostly chronic and a Dry Eye condition typically worsens with age. Perhaps you can help explain the importance to your patients envision a sub-micron soap bubble! Puncture it and it disappears.
While representing but a fraction of the total sphere, the sub micron bubble’s ability to contain air is dependent on the quality and quantity of the soap. This is what determines the elasticity, the tensile strength, the viscosity, osmolarity of the film. Similarly with the tear film, any small component of the sub micron outside lipid layer will lead to a Tear Break Up and evaporation of the entire tear. (Measured in seconds as in TBUT).
The First Lline of Defense
Daily Lid hygiene optimizes the environment of all lipid-producing glands and must never be trivialized by prescribing baby shampoo, commercial scrubs with high alkaline pH and must always be an integral part of any Dry Eye approach. Only IGIENE (rhymes with Hygiene) C2 addresses all the requirements and is the only exclusive professional ophthalmic formula.
